Pressefoto Arne Sommer is a German writer, working mainly in the areas of television, radio drama and ficiton writing since 1996. Among his works are movies for television (e.g. “Klassentreffen” for public broadcaster ARD, “Visus – Expedition Arche Noah” for RTL), his original radio drama mystery series “Peter Lundt: Blind Detective” (so far 12 episodes out on CD, plus stage versions and a comic book), and mystery novels (“Familiensache”, “Hongkong”, “Duplex”).

Arne has studied screenwriting at filmschools in Ludwigsburg, Germany, and Bournemouth, England, and was a guest at Bobette Buster’s Screenwriting Class in Holllywood. He also attended writing classes in London, Paris, Munich and Leipzig. He was member of the board of the Screenwriters’ Guild of Germany, Vice-President of the Federation of Scriptwriters in Europe, and is currently chairman of the board of “Kulturelle Filmförderung Schleswig-Holstein”, the film trade association in Germany’s northmost federal state.

He is also a lecturer and presenter of scriptwriting workshops and has organised events for festivals like Filmfest Hamburg, Filmfest Munich, Nordic Filmdays Lübeck and the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Arne lives with his family in the town of Neumünster, just half an hour north of Hamburg, Germany. He speaks English, Danish and – believe it or not – German.
